Prime Ministerís Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

1.    The Scheme:-

J&k Khadi and Village Industries Board is one of the implementing agencies of Prime Ministerís Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in J&k State, besides KVIC and DICs with KVIC as a Nodal Agency at National level.

PMEGP isa new credit linked subsidy programme launched by the Government of India in the Year 2008 by merging the two schemes that were in operation till 31-3-2008 namely Prime Ministerís Rozgar Yojana and Rural Employment Generation Programme for generation of Employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas is a central sector scheme being administered by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises i.e., MoMSME.

2.   Objectives:-

(i)                To generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas of the Country through setting up of new self- employment ventures/projects/micro enterprises.

(ii)              To bring together widely dispersed traditional artisans/rural and urban unemployed youth and give them self employment opportunities to the extent possible, at their place.

3.    Features of the Scheme:-

The Beneficiaries for setting up projects under Prime Ministerís Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) should possess at least 8th standard pass educational qualification for:

a)     Manufacture Sector:- Project Costing more than 10.00 lakhs up to 25.00 lakhs.

b)    Service Sector:- Project costing more than 5.00 lakhs up to 10.00 lakhs.

4.    Documents Required:-

(i)                Project Report.

(ii)              Loan application Form (to be obtained from KVIB Office).

(iii)            Photograph.

(iv)            Land Title/Lease Deed/Rent deed

(v)              Affidavit duly verified by Notary that no loan /Subsidy has been availed from any financial institution/Bank/ Department under any Scheme of State Govt./Central Govt.

(vi)            Qualification/Date of Birth certificate.

(vii)          Proof of Residence./ Adhar Card

(viii)        Site Plan of Proposed location of the Unit.

(ix)            Licence if required.

(x)              Consent to establish from Pollution control Board, if required.

(xi)            Power availability certificate from PDD.
